Students Speaking Up @ 3D

Get carried away by the performances of VU talents who share their artistry work with you through music, spoken word and more.

VU talents will share their creative work with you over vegan lunch during Sustainability Day. Please sign up via the registration form to join this event. Be quick to register, because there are limited seats available. Please note: performances will be a mix of English and Dutch.

Performers

Tycho Scholten studies philosophy and law at the VU and wrote a Master’s thesis on climate litigation. With two fantasy novels already published, he is currently working on the final instalment of the trilogy, exploring the theme of nature’s revenge against humanity’s hubris. He also writes poetry, usually combining satirical content with lyrical form to provide a refreshing take on pressing social issues. He will perform Dutch poems relating to sustainability and Climate Change.

Jacob Aderetti, slightly better known as McJuni, is a rapper, singer and songwriter based in the Netherlands. He is also a third-year bachelor student of Artificial Intelligence. He will soon release his first album called "Mens Erger Je Niet," and he is going to rap a song of the album that fits with the topic of sustainability and renewal.

Nadya Pheby is a gender-non-conforming Slovak writer, actor, bookaholic and poet who studies Philosophy BA at the VU. They have a longstanding love of epic fantasy, mountaineering, linguistics and Shakespearean tragedy. They are passionate about the complexity of the human-nature relationship in all their work, and are fascinated by the Gothic personification and fetishization of the wild environment as contained within urban places.

Tenzin Yangdotsang is a recent graduate from VU, holding a bachelor's degree in Computer Science and Philosophy. Apart from enjoying delicious cuisine and socializing with compassionate individuals, Tenzin has a deep-seated passion for writing. Writing has been a lifelong fascination of her, beginning from a young age. The dream of becoming a writer is fueled by the limitless possibilities that writing offers. Through the written word, Tenzin aspires to share untold stories with the world.
