"After years of procrastination, I still decided to work on my written Dutch communication skills. Because I am almost fluent in Dutch, it was important for me to participate in a customized course. My level was determined through a test and based on this a special course was created for me. I learned a lot in the past year, thanks to the good guidance of my Dutch teacher.
The biggest challenge was writing my texts in an English way. That is where I see the most improvement and progress and I feel I can write much more fluently. I now write daily emails to my colleagues in Dutch and that comes easily to me. Although there are many English-speaking jobs in the Netherlands, it is very important for my career at a public Dutch university that I can communicate professionally in Dutch, both orally and in writing.
I would definitely recommend it to anyone thinking of taking such a course. Thanks to my teacher/supervisor, who is very knowledgeable, flexible and has a very pleasant way of teaching, I have reached the level I was aiming for."
