Is the gap widening between people who do and do not have access to certain networks? Levels of connection abound: past–present, machines–people, online–offline, local–global … At Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, researchers explore the many facets of a world that seems increasingly connected. From privacy, virtual reality and information bubbles to historical linguistic influences, heritage and artificial intelligence—not to mention the psychological aspects of always being switched on.
