As part of the national "Recognition & Rewards" programme for researchers, a survey was recently conducted for the second time to gauge how employees perceive the goals and developments related to Recognition & Rewards.

The results show that there is broad support for R&R’s ambitions within VU Amsterdam, but there is also room for further development. Together, we will continue to work toward a culture in which diverse talents and contributions are recognized and valued. Not everyone needs to excel in every area; in fact, different qualities can complement one another.
At VU Amsterdam, we believe it’s important to help everyone develop their talents. For example, the career policy for faculty members was updated last year. More information about the career policy for support staff will follow shortly.
Talking together
Cultural change takes time and, above all, requires dialogue. Therefore, discuss within your team what “Recognition & Rewards” means to you and how different talents and contributions are given their due within the team. This is also a good topic to address during your annual consultation.
