The use of both platforms leads to double costs for both contract and management. Check this page on VU.nl for more information.
Integration in Canvas with Teams Meetings active
The current integration with Zoom will therefore end as well. Lecturers can now use a new integration in Canvas with Teams Meetings to easily create online lectures and sessions. This integration is similar to the current integration with Zoom.
The integration in Canvas with Zoom will remain available until the end of period 4 (end of March 2026). After this date, the integration will be deactivated and all online meetings previously scheduled with Zoom will no longer be accessible via Canvas. Sessions that have already been scheduled via the Zoom link in Canvas and take place after 31 March need to be rescheduled by using the new Teams Meetings integration.

Instructions on how to use the link are available in Canvas, see VU Tools for Education. In addition, a SharePoint page has been set up, From Zoom to Teams, with detailed information on how to use Microsoft Teams. In March, April and May, a number of online sessions will be organised for lecturers, explaining how the link works and how to use Teams in (online) education. You can register via the SharePoint page.
