Sending a large batch of mail, non-regular mail or urgent mail

Do you have a letter or package that requires urgent delivery? Our postal services can help you.

If you have a letter or package that requires urgent delivery, choose one of the following options:

  • Courier service for internal mail
    The VU courier will collect your mail directly from you and deliver it to the recipient within two hours. Place your order before 3 PM for same day delivery.
  • Courier service for external mail
    Place your order before noon and we will ensure that your urgent mail is delivered to any address in the Netherlands the same day.

Sending a large batch of mail

Do you have more than 100 pieces of domestic or international mail and do they all have the same shape, weight and contents? Deliver them pre-sorted to Postal Services. 

More information about sorting and delivering batch mail, and about having it sorted for you, can be found in the document POST: Distributie en verzending binnen/buiten de Vrije Universiteit (in Dutch). A higher rate applies to sending unsorted mail, so it is less expensive to sort large batches of mail yourself.

Cost centre number required for non-regular mail
Because sending non-regular mail always involves additional costs, it must be delivered to Postal Services with a cost centre number. This makes it possible to charge the costs internally. Non-regular mail includes:

  • large batches of mail
  • dry ice shipments
  • courier shipments within the Netherlands (same day delivery)
  • registered mail (domestic and international)
  • urgent international shipments
