On a more general note...
Every personal VU page contains these topics:
General information
You will first see fields for general information. This includes the name of the researcher, their e-mail address and a picture. You can add information with for example a phone number, address and a room number. It is also possible to include links to LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook and other personal or research-related web pages such as a Scopus profile, Mandley, Research Gate, Google Scholar, etc.
Personal profile
Under Personal Information, please give a profile description of yourself (not only what your academic function is, but also your substantive function, i.e. what your expertise is). You can supplement various subjects, such as research, teaching and education. Above all, let us know what you are currently researching. There may be faculty guidelines, check with the faculty policy officer research or get advice from the faculty communication officers. And especially make use of the option to add keywords.
Organizational affiliations
These consist of the HR appointment (faculty and department), research programmes and research institutes. The HR position is recorded in the HR system and any changes are automatically sent to PURE.
Research programmes are registered in two places. The programmes that receive indirect or commercial funding are recorded in the project system and are managed by project controllers. For any changes to programme names, please contact the project controller in charge of the project. The programmes that receive direct funding are recorded in the PURE system and are managed by faculty PURE administrators. Research institutes are registered in PURE and are managed by faculty PURE administrators.
Ancillary activities
This part is automatically imported from the ancillary activities that are registered in the HRM system. This information can be adjusted by going to the VU Service Portal: Ancillary activities.
Managing personal pages
After logging in, the personal overview page is shown. This page includes all personal data and all registered research output. Using the ‘edit profile’ button, you can add personal information such as various IDs (Scopus, Web of Science and ORCiD), a profile picture, files and links.
You can also add profile information under Curriculum and give a research description. Using the ‘add profile information’ button, it is possible to manually add text and hyperlinks for predefined topics.
The default settings show all research output on all personal pages. You may prefer to have a more limited selection on your personal page. You can do this by creating a Highlighted Content CV. For more information, please read “Creating a Curriculum Vitae in PURE”.
