Examples of work-related shocking events are aggression and (verbal) violence), bullying, (sexual) harassment, workplace accidents, assault, robberies, serious injury, mutilation, emergencies, suicide and death.
Processing shocking events is facilitated by social support in someone's environment (managers, colleagues, family, acquaintances, etc.). That is why it is useful to pay attention in the workplace to ASE, Aftercare in case of Shocking Events.
