Achieve your UTQ (BKO) through a flexible learning route

Modules in the academic year 2024-2025

  • Module 1: Conduct September - December 2024

  • Module 2: Supervising students January - March 2025
    This module is only available in Dutch. Please visit the Dutch page for more information.
  • Module 3: Teaching design April - June 2025

Total duration UTQ-flex
Between 8 and 10 weeks per module.

Dates and times module 3 "Designing education":

  • 2 April 2025,  09.30 AM – 5 PM, intake interviews
  • 16 April, 1 PM – 3.30 PM, session 1 online
  • 14 May, 1 PM – 3.30 PM, session 2 online
  • 11 June, 1 PM – 3.30 PM, session 3 online
  • 9 July, hand-in moment final report
  • 9-18 July, assessments

Dates final interview (if all three modules have been successfully completed and the participant wishes to obtain a full UTQ certificate):

  • 16 June-6 July 2025

Study load
Depending on teaching experience: 20 - 35 hours per module.

Cost (2024/2025)
Only VU employees with teaching duties can participate in the BKO. Most of the programme cost is covered through internal quality funds. However, VU candidates must obtain approval from their supervisor or manager to enrol in the course. An administration fee of €85 per candidate will be charged, to be paid by the faculty.
