Achieve your UTQ (BKO) through a flexible learning route

UTQ-flex is the programme for VU lecturers who want to demonstrate their teaching competences via a flexible route in three (online) modules. For each module, you can obtain a certificate of participation. If necessary (e.g. when changing employer), a certificate of participation for a separate module can be converted into a partial certificate UTQ for modules 1 and 2 (this does not apply to module 3). When you successfully complete all modules you can, if you pursue this, obtain your full UTQ certificate.

Are you a VU lecturer and want to develop your teaching competences, but are unable to participate in a regular UTQ course?

Then consider the UTQ-flex. Through this modular programme, you decide together with the trainers on your personal learning route and the subjects you want to study in more depth. This way, you choose which teacher competency you will start with, so you develop exactly the competency that is most relevant to you at that moment. At the same time, we ensure a good connection with peers, so you can learn from and with other teachers who are also following the UTQ-flex.

With the UTQ-flex, you do not have to complete the entire UTQ programme. If necessary (e.g. when changing employers), a certificate of participation for a separate module can be converted into a partial certificate BKO for module 1 and 2 (this does not apply to module 3). If you complete all three separate modules, you can obtain a complete UTQ certificate at your own pace, which will give you entry-level competence in higher education. We also take previously acquired competences into account in this programme, e.g. through individual intake interviews.

The Blended Learning format allows you to follow the UTQ-flex for the most part through online self-study (individually and with peers). The number of (online) meetings is minimal. In this way, the programme meets the full schedules of lecturers with small appointments at VU Amsterdam, who often have jobs outside teaching.

For whom?
The UTQ-flex is for VU lecturers who already have several years of experience in teaching, training and/or in coaching students or colleagues. You are also welcome if you already have a partial certificate of the UTQ.
