Learn techniques to encourage engagement and collaboration

Number and duration of training
4 half-day meetings

Dates and time
Monday 12 October, 2 November, 23 November and 14 December 2026, from 13.00-16.00.

Study load
The course load is 4 x 3 hours of contact time. Between sessions participants are encouraged to apply lessons learned during the sessions in their own teaching practice, which may lead to extra preparation time for teaching tasks.

Language
Dutch or English, depending on participants.

Cost (2025/2026)

  • VU employees
    If you are a VU employee - or employed by ACTA, Amsterdam UMC location VUmc or AUC -, most of this programme cost will be covered through internal quality funds. When participating in this programme, we charge a € 85 registration fee. We advise you to talk with your manager about a possible reimbursement of the registration fee. You can check on this page if you are eligible for reimbursement.
  • External candidates
    Cost for employees of other Dutch universities is € 645 (no tax).

Entry requirement
To get the most out of this course, you should be actively teaching during the course. This gives you the opportunity to apply new insights and strategies directly in your own teaching practice. During the course, participants are also encouraged to observe a lesson from another participant, as learning from peers can provide valuable insights.
