During the break-out, you will work with your own team to (re)design your own course using a well-known design method. The break-out trainers will pay explicit attention to three phases of educational design: analysis, design, and development.
The break-out session will take place at a special location outside VU Amsterdam so that you and your team can focus fully on the design process. After 24 hours, you will have your own global educational design and a personalized step-by-step plan leading up to the start of the course.
Your educational design will be stimulating and will fit both your own context, with its associated preconditions and challenges, and the VU Educational Vision.

- analysis of the learning context and educational vision
- the student’s learning path
- plotting the sessions
- developing educational materials
- drawing up an action plan
Result
After the break-out, you will leave with an educational design of your course and a personalised step-by-step action plan.
You made the most important decisions in the design process and, together with your colleagues, you will be equipped to further develop and finalise your course set-up.
