The ABM Blueprint Sprint helps your academic programme to clarify how you educate your students to become free thinkers with A Broader Mind; global citizens who contribute to solutions for complex societal issues.
During the sprint, your team will work on formulating a programme-specific ABM narrative, translating this narrative into concrete learning objectives, and identifying where these objectives are already reflected in the curriculum.
The sprint consists of three steps:
- Session 1 (three hours) with the core team: where do we want to go?
What does A Broader Mind mean for the professionals you’re training? Together, you’ll develop a programme-specific ABM narrative and translate it into concrete ABM learning objectives for students. - Alignment with the entire teaching team: what are we already doing?
To what extent is this vision already reflected in the curriculum? Which course objectives, learning activities, and assessment methods contribute to achieving the ABM learning objectives? To gain insight into the entire curriculum, you’ll map this out in close collaboration with course coordinators. - Session 2 (three hours) with the core team: where are the opportunities?
Based on the insights gathered, you’ll explore where A Broader Mind is already strongly evident and where there are still opportunities for development. You will translate these insights into concrete next steps to further strengthen A Broader Mind and embed it sustainably in the curriculum.
Results
By the end of the process, you will have:
- a shared, programme-specific ABM narrative;
- concrete ABM learning objectives for students;
- an understanding of where these objectives are already evident in the curriculum;
- an overview of opportunities for development and any gaps;
- a concrete action plan to further strengthen and embed A Broader Mind.
