High-level assessment expert

As a VU lecturer, the BKO prepared you to work with the assessment cycle within a course. In the SKE you can deepen your assessment literacy and learn to work at course level within the framework of the VU assessment vision, the VU assessment framework and your own assessment program and learn to make an active and positive contribution to the assessment culture in your programme.

As a programme director or a member of the examination board, you must be able to oversee the assessment programme and the assessment organization as a whole and be able to think in terms of assessment vision and assessment policy. As the coordinator of a major,  a learning path, a study year or a programme you must also have a grip on assessment beyond the level of a course, which not infrequently involves a great diversity of assessment types. For all of these roles the SKE is suitable.

The SKE is a professionalization track at senior level for those who in their daily work are involved with assessment and assessment quality at a programme level. The SKE approaches assessment from the perspective of vision and policy, within the context of the assessment program and focused on a role in which you help colleagues and the programme to further improve the quality of assessment. This SKE track connects to the specific assessment contexts within VU and works from the VU Assessment Vision and the VU Assessment Framework.

For whom?
Obtaining an SKE makes sense for education professionals who are concerned with either quality care or quality assurance related to assessment. We are looking for a mix of programme directors, programme coordinators, thesis coordinators, members of examination boards or assessment committees and assessment experts from all VU faculties, who already have a lot of experience in cross-curricular thinking about assessment. Enrolment is possible for those with a BKE certificate or for people with extensive overarching assessment experience from practice.

Does this SKE track appeal to you, but you are not working at VU, do you hold a BKE certificate? Have a look at our trans-institutional SKE track here.
