Develop an integrative perspective on the Hindu worldview

Practicing Integrative Worldviews in technology era

The course begins with an overview of essentials for Hindu studies: sanskrit; Hindu epistemology; concepts relevant for hermeneutics; researcher preparation for undertaking indigenous research with Hindu worldviews.

Subsequently categories of texts having major religious significance will be discussed: Śruti (revelation texts) and Smṛti (other non-revelation texts). It comprises themes based on selected illustrations from scriptures such as Vedas, Vedāngas, Itihāsa (the Mahābhārata and Rāmāyana), texts under four puruṣārtha or human life goals, the Purānas or religious epics, the Kāvya or poetical literature, Darśanas or philosophies, other Śāstras (scriptures) and Samhitas (collections) covering politics, medicine, ethics, culture, arts and society.

In this course we will explore and explain the Hindu worldview with the help of six worldview dimensions and an integrative paradigm. This reflects in the words holistic, coherence and all connectedness. These concepts are based on insights from Vedism.

Another component in this course is the student's development of a psychological ease in tapping from Shakti (life force), respecting authenticity, and customizing solutions for problems from an integrative intention. The importance of surrendering ego and status with devotion (Samarpan) for growth will be discussed as well in this course. This has everything to do with acting from an integrative and holistic basis. We will talk about why this will help you as an individual to assess your actions by focusing on the process of the actions rather than on its fruits.
