An interactive course in the discipline of Treasury Management

Fundamentals of Treasury Management

This course gives you an extensive and detailed overview of the treasury management discipline, focused on daily practice and including current developments in legislation and technology.

Sessions are interactive and delivered by lecturers active in this field.

The one day workshop at location enables you to apply knowledge into practice with the help of management games and to discuss current developments with the help of case studies.

The following topics are addressed in the course:

  • Treasury Organisation, Legal, Tax, Accounting and Regulatory Principles: Basel & PSD
  • Working Capital and Cash Flow Management: cash conversion cycle, working capital management and cash flow forecasting methods
  • Trade & Commodity Finance: identifying trade risks, trade instruments, trade finance solutions
  • International Cash Management: (virtual) pooling techniques, cash pooling and netting, Payment innovations (Fintechs), Blockchain and cryptocurrency
  • Financial Markets, Lending and Investments

Professor Hertbert Rijken is Full Professor Corporate Finance at the department of Finance at VU Amsterdam. He obtained his PhD (1993) in Physics at Eindhoven University of Technology.

prof. Stanley Myint

Professor Stanley Myint is Head of Risk Management Advisory of BNP Paribas since 2005. He studied Physics at the University of Belgrade and obtained his PhD in Physics at the Boston University. He is also a guest lecturer for Corporate Risk Management and Fixed Income Derivatives at the University of Oxford.

Robert Dekker

Robert Dekker is Associate Director at KPMG Netherlands. He studied Economics at the University of Groningen and did an Associate's Degree in Risk Management at the University of Pennsylvania. 

He is also programme manager for Risk Management for Financial Institutions and Treasury Management & Corporate Finance at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam.
