Working method
You will be assigned to a group of course participants at your own level (absolute beginners or beginners). During classes at VU Amsterdam, you will work together with other course members, often in groups. You will receive instructions and explanations in Dutch and practice speaking and listening skills. You also work on your own listening, reading and writing skills, mainly online. The teacher offers you plenty of personal guidance during the course.
Entry requirements
Everyone who has finished a secondary education (comparable to the Dutch havo/vwo) is welcome. If you do not speak Dutch yet, some knowledge of the English language is necessary. An intake (verbal and/or written) can be part of the selection procedure.
Do you already speak some Dutch? Then you may have to do an intake test. You will receive an invitation for the central intake test after you have filled in the online application form.
