Whether you are curious about one, two, three, or even more programmes: your study choice will be a lot easier if you really get a feeling of how your student life will be. That's why it's always a good idea to join a Taster Day or Student for a Day activity. During these activities, you get a taste of life as a student at the university, what the campus looks like, and what it is actually like to attend a lecture.

Taster Day
During a Taster Day, you get to know the programme and VU Amsterdam. Lecturers and students will tell you more about the programme. For example, you follow a lecture with other prospective students, you make a work assignment and you can ask all your questions to teachers and students during a Q&A session. Finally, you will be given a tour of the campus.
This activity preferably takes place on campus, so that you can really get a taste of the atmosphere. Some programmes also offer Taster Day activities online. You often follow an on-demand or live lecture that is combined with a tutorial, a group meeting with a student, and concluded with a Q&A with the teacher and student.
Student for a Day
When you join a Student for a Day activity, you make an appointment with a student from the programme alone or with a group of prospective students and you follow this student for a few hours during a day of studying at VU Amsterdam. This student takes you into the content of the programme, student life and experiences at VU Amsterdam. You can ask the student anything, after all, they know best what the programme and studying look like! The student also shows you the campus during a tour.
This activity also preferably takes place on campus, because actually sitting in lecture halls gives the best impression of the programme. But here too, some programmes offer Student for a Day activities online. When the activity is online, the student takes you during an online meeting into student life and the content of the programme. You have plenty of space to ask questions.
