Summer school session overview

Find out which session your course is in and the dates of attendance

Summer school courses are either one-week or two-weeks long and are spread across three separate sessions.

Courses in session 1 and session 2a are two-weeks long and courses in session 2b are one-week long. Sessions 2a and 2b run simultaneously.

It is possible to follow two courses in two different sessions, as long as they don't overlap. This means courses in session 1 can be combined with courses in either session 2a or 2b, for up to four weeks of intensive summer learning!

See further down for session information and our recommended course combinations.

Sessions

  • Course overview per session

VU Amsterdam Summer School offers courses that are one and two weeks long in three sessions. You can follow one course per session so it is possible to follow two courses in two different sessions, making your summer school a total of three or four weeks.

Session 1: Saturday 4 July to Saturday 18 July
Session 2a: Sunday 19 July to Saturday 1 August
Session 2b: Sunday 19 to Sunday 26 July

*It is not possible to follow courses in the same session as classes will overlap.

The dates mentioned include arrival and departure days. Courses run from Monday to Friday, weekends are off to relax, explore and for self-study (some exceptions might occur). Make the most of your time here by studying more than one course.
