Next to the active members, Extensus has a broad network of partners that are influential contributors to the lively association.
EAN Extensus Alumni Network
Since its foundation Extensus has grown into a vibrant community of ambitious, curious students who thrive on crossing disciplinary boundaries. With the first graduates in 2011, alumni began working to strengthen connections across generations, leading to the creation of the Extensus Alumni Network (EAN). EAN brings current and former members together through social events and provides a platform to share experiences on studying abroad, entrepreneurship, and professional development. All former Extensus members holding a Bachelor’s degree are invited to join this diverse international network and continue building on the spirit of the Honours Programme.
Partnerships & Collaborations
Extensus has collaborated with leading Dutch and international companies based in Amsterdam to provide honours students with unique opportunities to connect with the professional world (e.g. ING, Van Lanschot Kempen, ASML, Deloitte, PwC, Roland Berger, TUI). Through inhouse days, career dinners, promotional activities, and social events, our members engage directly with inspiring businesses and institutions, building networks that support both their academic journey and future careers. Over the years, these collaborations have positioned Extensus as a bridge between ambitious students and market-leading organizations, with many alumni now pursuing challenging roles across our partner companies.
Amsterdam Honours Student Council
The Amsterdam Honours Student Council (AHSC), founded in 2013 by Honours students from UvA and VU, serves as the representative body for Honours students at both universities. Its core mission is to safeguard and improve the quality of the Honours Programme through annual surveys, focus groups, and regular dialogue with the VU-UvA Honours Committee. By fostering communication across the Honours Programmes of VU, UvA, and AUC, and voicing student perspectives in policy discussions, the AHSC helps strengthen the programme and ensure it reflects the needs of its community.
Faculty Student Representatives
The Faculty Honours Student Representatives of the AHSC are a group of students from VU and UvA, act as a vital link between honours students, faculty coordinators, and policymakers. They promote the Honours Programme within their faculties, organize bonding activities, and evaluate its quality through surveys and focus groups. By maintaining close contact with students, gathering feedback, and collaborating with the Amsterdam Honours Student Council, they help ensure the programme’s continuous improvement and strong community engagement.
