Analysing the interplay between thoughts, the brain and the musculoskeletal system is fascinating. Any injury to the brain can have a huge impact on the way you move, speak and think. When you are unable to move properly, it affects how you feel and how you communicate. The focus of a movement analysis programme at VU Amsterdam is on the human musculoskeletal system and the brain, with all of their potential and limitations.
You can choose either the brain or the musculoskeletal system as your starting point, or you can opt for a combination of both. You will conduct practical research at one of the VU laboratories, in a clinical setting and at the Amsterdam Movement Science Institute. Are you interested in the medical implications or the psychological impact of restricted movement? Maybe you want to do fundamental research. It is all possible. How deep do you want to dive into the world of movement analysis? The choice is yours!
