PPE Student for a Day – Monday 13 April

PPE Student for a Day – Monday 13 April

Great that you've signed up for the Student for a Day of the Philosophy, Politics and Economics (PPE) bachelor at the John Stuart Mill College at the VU!

During this morning, you will shadow one of our current students and experience what it is like to study PPE. This will give you a good impression of the atmosphere of the programme and the John Stuart Mill College, a part of the curriculum, and the kinds of questions we explore within PPE.

We are happy to welcome you on Monday, 13 April 2026 at 8:45 AM at the white registration desk on the ground floor of the VU Main Building, located at De Boelelaan 1105. (Route description: https://vu.nl/en/about-vu/more-about/route-description). There you will meet the student who will accompany you during the morning. Together you will attend a lecture on the fourth floor, at our own John Stuart Mill College

Programme

9:00 – 10:45 AM – Comparative Politics, taught by Dr Julia Rone
In this course you will be introduced to the field of comparative politics. In this course the students learn how democratic institutions emerge, how they function, and what effects they have.

During the break and after the lecture there will be plenty of opportunity to ask questions.

Preparation

If you would like to prepare for the lecture so that you can follow it extra well, please send an email to info.ppe@vu.nl. We will then send you a few articles that you can read.

For any other questions, you can also email info.ppe@vu.nl

We look forward to meeting you!

On behalf of the PPE team,
Rozemarijn van Faassen
