So you’ve graduated from Mechanical Engineering—now what?

After the bachelor Mechanical Engineering, most students choose to continue studying, but you can also work in industry. You have a good connection to various master's programs at technical universities such as University of Twente, TU Delft, or a master's at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam

On completing this programme, you have all the tools you need as a mechanical engineer of the future. You learn analytical skills and technical knowledge, but also the creativity required to make an impact on society. You can conduct a comprehensive analysis, compile and calculate a package of requirements, and produce a final product—everything you need to get to the bottom of a technological problem and come up with an inventive solution.

At most Engineering and Technology masters you are directly admissible with this degree in Mechanical Engineering. Sometimes you must first complete a pre-master. Such a pre-master can often be done as a minor during the bachelorprogramma already. 

Start your career

With a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, you have excellent prospects. Highly educated technicians are in great demand in the Netherlands, and doors will open for you in many sectors and professions: the automobile and aircraft industry, healthcare, machine construction, the electronics industry, the chemical industry.
