Master's Thesis Award
Clara Luxardo, an alumna of the Environmental Resource Management (ERM) programme, has been awarded this prestigious award.
This award recognises the master’s thesis with the strongest societal impact, evaluated on scientific quality, originality, relevance, and real-world impact. Clara’s research, titled: Pastoral Socio-Ecological Systems in Transition – A Case Study in the High-Altitude Rangelands of Mustang, Nepal, under supervision of Dr Jampel Dell’Angelo, explores the complex environmental and social dynamics shaping pastoral communities in Nepal. Her work sheds light on the challenges and transitions these communities face, contributing to sustainable resource management strategies.
Green Finance Scientific Talent Award
Daniel Muth received this award from the Central Bank of Hungary for his research on the political economy of carbon pricing and climate policy development in the Central European region.

Consolidator Grant
Wouter Botzen has received a Consolidator Grant from the European Research Council (ERC) of two million euro. The grant allows him to investigate how public-private insurance partnerships can enable households and businesses to adapt to multi-hazard climate change risks.
Research award
Jeroen Aerts has been granted a € 60,000 Research Award from the Alexander von Humboldt Stiftung. He will use the money to work with Prof. Bruno Merz from GFZ Potsdam on approaches that include human behaviour and adaptation measures in flood risk assessments.

Nadia Bloemendaal received a Cum Laude award for her PhD thesis: Weathering the Storm: Tropical Cyclone Risk under Climate Change.
