They explore solutions for private actors who face a challenging Dutch healthcare environment. One pertinent question is how to maintain standards of quality in cure and care with increasing scarcity. Also, the increase in need for care will require a different way of organizing personnel and other resources. These challenges provide an opportunity to do research with impact to both private healthcare providers and society as a whole.
Research in the field of healthcare management at SBE includes all relevant business disciplines, such as financial accounting, management accounting, finance, HR, medical leadership, information science, marketing and logistics & production. Research is not limited to management of the healthcare providers alone, but also includes third-party payers like health insurers and municipalities, and providers of drugs, vaccines, antibiotics and medical devices.
Knowledge of economics, organization, management, accounting and finance at HERA are brought together in our teaching programs, such as the minor Healthcare Management. This program is offered to students with backgrounds in medicine, health sciences, economics and business administration. This gives them the opportunity to work together on challenging economic and managerial aspects in the Dutch cure and care sector.
