ASI Research Cluster Behaviour and Governance

The cluster aims to connect VU researchers and other stakeholders (e.g. societal stakeholders such as industry, governments, municipalities) that are interested in learning about individual behaviour and governance in the context of sustainability.

We plan to organise regular exchange between researchers which will foster the creation of synergies between behaviour and governance research in the context of sustainability carried out at different faculties, departments and institutes at the VU.

Collaboration with societal stakeholders will enhance the societal relevance of the research carried out by cluster members. The cluster wants to bundle knowledge and raise awareness of the role of individual and collective behaviour as well as governance arrangements in solving today’s sustainability challenges. One of our foci is on social dilemmas, conflicts of self-interest and collective interests, that characterize broad social issues such as climate change and overconsumption.

Cluster membership is open to all VU researchers (all faculties, all levels) working in the field of behavioural and governance on sustainability topics.
