ALP self-study modules

The ALP offers several resources that allow you to practise your Academic Dutch or English skills online.

This way, you can work on some aspect of academic writing at a time that you choose yourself. This will be helpful if, for instance, you get feedback from your teacher about the structure of your text. Or you may know that you often make mistakes with verb tenses. You can choose between self-study modules, automatic feedback (in Dutch), and diagnostic tests (in Dutch).

Self-study modules

  • Academic English: top ten language and grammar issues
This Canvas module will help you to avoid errors that often occur in English academic texts. In short videos, the instructors explain the ten most common mistakes. Afterwards you can practice with each topic, which will help you to avoid the errors in your own texts. The module is free. Sign up by sending an email to alp.sgw@vu.nl.

You can find the tools for Dutch here.
