SBE values responsible research that upholds the highest standards of integrity. All VU students enrolled in SBE bachelor’s and master’s programs must complete the research ethics check before starting their projects.

After reading the guide, master students are expected to complete the Online self-check. If your responses to the Online self-check indicate that your research project (i) complies with the ethics guidelines, (ii) does not involve data on human subjects or (iii) has already undergone an ethics review you should download the PDF report that confirms this and share it with your supervisors. Your supervisors will also receive an automated message that alerts them that you have completed the ethics check.
If your responses to the Online self-check reveal that your research project does not comply with the research ethics guidelines you will be required to revise your study design and resubmit it for review.
