Language, Literature and Communication | Research groups

TLC is home to the research group around Spinoza laureate Prof. dr. Piek Vossen, whose research interests include automatized reading, interpreting and structuring large data streams.

Prof. dr. Irene Costera Meijer’s research focuses on new types of journalism, and Prof. dr. Martine Coene is developing new perspectives for adults and children with hearing difficulties, in cooperation with the VUmc (LHCA). Blood and roses, Dr Jacqueline Bel’s history of 20th century Dutch literature, is a fine example of the importance of accessible research and the relationship between language, culture and history. Prof. dr. Hedwig te Molder studies how people communicate issues of science and technology in their everyday lives, using Discursive Psychology and Conversation Analysis. Prof. dr. Alan Cienki investigates language use and cognition from the perspective of multimodal communication.
