Library Lounge

Welcome to the Library Lounge of the VU University Library!

Your place to decompress and connect in the University Library.

The Library Lounge is a non-silent study space. You can always meet here; either spontaneously, or at one of our Library Lounge events.

The Lounge features bookcases with different collections:

  • Banned Books collection
  • Historical slavery and (de)colonisation
  • Books of Importance
  • Recommended Literature
  • Open Science collection
  • SDG collections

There are also several displays with items from our Special Collections spread throughout the Lounge and near the entrance.

Book Club

About the Book Club
The VU Library Book Club is for anyone roaming VU’s campus. We read a few books each year, and try to throw something new into the mix each time; passing fiction and non-fiction, poetry and prose, short stories and longer ones along the way. Our librarians select three candidates for a season and you get to vote.
