Low-stimulus room during exams

Last updated on 16 July 2025
Read all about the low-stimulus room/facilities room here: (de)registration, location, and rules.

The facilities room is a low-stimulus room* for students with a granted facility. Here you can take exams in a quiet environment together with up to 14 other students. All faculty participate except ACTA. The rooms are located in the 1G wing of the Main Building. Walk on the ground floor towards the 6 elevators, turn right past the elevators, then take the stairs or elevator to the first floor.

*Please note: The room is low-stimulus, but not completely stimulus-free.

The hall is only accessible to students with the following assigned facilities:

  • Low-stimulus room during exams: You will take all your exams in the facilities room.
  • Digital exam: You take written exams digitally in the facilities room.

(De)registration

Registration for the facilities room is mandatory. You can only register if you have registered for the course and exam itself via the registration module. Don't forget to register for each individual midterm or exam, for example for a course with 4 midterms you have to fill in 4 requests. If you do not register (on time), you are not expected and no exam will be prepared for you. You will be referred to the regular exam location. Here your facilities are not guaranteed and if there is no available space you will not be able to participate until the next exam opportunity.

  • Registration: There must be at least 14 full days between the date of registration and the date of the exam. Example: for an exam on Monday 27 October, you can register until 23:59 on Sunday 12 October. Register via this form (MED students use this form). This rule applies in all cases, even if there are not 14 full days between the result of the first examination opportunity and the result of the resit. Check in the registration module whether you are registered for the (re)examination before filling in the form.
  • Deregister if you are not going to take the exam, please deregister using the same form you used to register. Many arrangements are being made to facilitate the exam including your facilities. By deregistering on time, you help us organize education in a more sustainable way.

Confirmation:

  • You will receive a confirmation of your registration no later than 5 working days before the exam (except for students of the Faculty of Science - see below). Did you not receive this? Please contact the Education Office and state your Topdesk registration number.
  • Students of the Faculty of Science do not receive confirmation of their application. If the application is made 10 working days before the exam date, it will be processed.

Exam rules

  1. Come to the room 15 minutes before the start of the exam.
  2. Sit in the room (and in the row) indicated on the room layout hanging at the entrance door.
  3. Follow the instructions of the invigilators, especially during extra hallway checks during exam weeks.
  4. Follow the regular exam guidelines. These can be found here.
