The Digital Student Workspace is a virtual workplace with access to various applications. Read here how to get started with the Digital Student Workspace and get answers to frequently asked questions.

The Digital Student Workspace is a virtual workplace for all VU students. In it, you get access to various applications, for your studies in general or for specific lectures. This digital work environment is available on Windows, Mac OS, Chrome and Linux and can be started anywhere, not only on a VU PC, but also on your own laptop or home computer.

  • Click the "Launch Digital Student Workspace" button at the top of this page to get started and log in with your VU e-mail address and password.
  • Select "Apps" from the left menu to display the list of apps.

Are you currently using a VU PC, on the VU campus? Please note that a VU PC on the VU campus is a shared workstation, so log out properly and close all your browser windows after use.

Getting started with the Digital Student Workspace

  • On which browsers does it work?

    The Digital Student Workspace is built based on web standards and works with all modern browsers such as Edge, Chrome and Firefox. This workspace is supported by the latest two versions of these browsers.

  • Which operating systems are supported?

    The Digital Student Workspace works within a webbrowser and is therefore available on Windows, Mac or Linux. In addition to use via the browser, the Digital Student Workspace can also be launched from a Remote Desktop App (or the Windows App). 

  • How do I reach the Digital Student Workspace?

    Logging in works as follows:

    • Click on the button "Launch Digital Student Workspace" at the top of this page OR
    • Launch your preferred web browse and go to windows.cloud.microsoft/#/apps;
    • Login with your VU email address and associated password;
    • Confirm MFA, when prompted.

    Now you can access all the apps that are available to you.

Contact IT

IT Service Portal
Through the IT Service Portal, you can report a problem, request additional services, find frequently asked questions, locate manuals, and track your own reports. Use the search bar to find what you are looking for in no time. A detailed description of our services can be found by clicking on the blue icons. These descriptions also include forms for submitting an application or making a report.

IT Service Desk
If you have a question about working from home, telephone communication or internet and you cannot find the answer on the service portal, call the IT Service Desk on +31 (0)20 598 0000 (7.30 am to 5.00 pm, Monday to Friday) or send an email to servicedesk.it@vu.nl. You can also stop by at one of the Student Services Desks: Main Building 0A-11 and Maths & Physics Building M-020 (9.00 am to 5.00 pm, Monday to Friday).
