Cogniti is an additional platform for online learning that Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam offers to support engaging blended learning online. With Cogniti, teachers can create Agents (AI bots) that support teaching with interactive learning opportunities based on generative AI.
Cogniti is a system that allows a teacher or staff member to create a generative AI Agent (a generative AI bot) and offer it to students. The teacher can instruct the AI Bot how to behave and what information to provide by means of a prompt and background information (documents, websites). The teacher or staff member can also grant students the right to create an AI bot (sandbox) so that students can learn about AI bots.
At VU Amsterdam, Cogniti is integrated into the Learning Management System (Canvas) and can be accessed through that system. In some cases, Cogniti is used stand-alone and reachable at https://edubots.vu.nl
