Registration and Deregistration terms

Registration and deregistration for courses and (re)examinations can be done within the applicable deadlines via the registration module.

Registration

You register and deregister for courses and (re)exams yourself via the registration module. Each education period has its own registration and deregistration deadline. Courses that run over several periods follow the term of the first period in which the course starts.

Did you miss the registration period? Then you can submit a late placement request for some courses. You will be notified in the week before the course starts whether you will be allowed to participate. More information on registration and deregistration can be found here.

Deregistration for courses

You can deregister for courses until the first week of the period in which the course starts. Select the course in the registration module, click on 'deregister' and confirm your choice. This will also deregister you for all corresponding course components.

Deregistration for (re)exams

You can deregister until 1 week before the (re)exam. Click on 'Change' and deselect the exam.
Example: Do you have an exam on Friday 22 December? Then you can deregister until 23.59 on Friday 15 December.

  • Registration rules for courses and (re)exams

    Registration deadlines

    You can register for courses within the registration period of the relevant period.

    • Courses: Up to 4 weeks before the start of the course*
    • Exams: up to 4 weeks before the start of the course**
    • Resits: Up to 1 week before the (re)exam (provided that the course is registered for)

    * Except
    Period 1: up to and including the1st week of the period in which the course starts
    Period 4: up to three weeks prior to the period in which the course starts

    ** Excluding
    Period 4: up to three weeks prior to the period in which the course starts

    Registration is possible until 23:59 on the last day of the period.

    Registering for exams

    When you register for a course, you are automatically registered for the examination.

    • The registration deadline for examinations is the same as that for the course.
    • The deadline is a few weeks before the start of the course.

    Please note: Outside the registration period, it is no longer possible to register for an examination if you did not register on time for the course (section).

    Registering for resits

    • Do you have a fail (or NVD)? Then you will automatically be registered for the resit.
    • Did you get a No Show or a pass? Then you have to register yourself.

    You can register from the day after the exam date or as soon as the results are known, until 1 week before the re-exam date.
    Example: For a re-exam on Friday 22 December, you can register until 23:59 on Friday 15 December.

    ⚠ Please note:

    • The last result obtained counts, even if it is lower than your previous grade.
    • Not participating after registration = No Show, but your previous result will stand.
    • Outside the registration period, registration is no longer possible if you were not previously registered for the course (section).

  • Deregistrationrules for courses and (re)exams

    Deregistration periods

    Courses: up to and including the 1st week of the period in which the course starts
    (Re)exams: up to 1 week prior to the examination date

    Courses spread over several periods

    You register for courses and examinations per period. Each period has its own registration deadlines.
    For courses that run over several periods (e.g. periods 1 to 3), the deregistration deadline of the first period in which the course starts applies (e.g. period 1).

    Deregistration for courses

    Deregistration for a course is possible up to and including the 1st week of the period in which the course starts.

    Deregistration for (re)exams

    Deregistration for a (re)exam can be done up to one week before the examination date. For example: you can deregister for an examination on Friday 22 December 2023 until 23.59 on Friday 15 December 2023.
