“I chose the Generative AI course to improve my understanding of a rapidly developing field that is reshaping both organizations and society. The combination of theoretical depth and practical application appealed to me, as I was looking for something that goes beyond high-level concepts and actually shows how generative AI techniques are applied in real-world scenarios.
What stood out most for me was the clear structure and progression of the course. It starts from the fundamentals and gradually moves into more advanced topics, covering a broad range of techniques such as GANs, VAEs, and transformer models. This breadth ensures that you gain a well-rounded understanding of different approaches and the types of problems they can be applied to. At the same time, the depth—especially in later topics like transformers—helps bring earlier concepts together into a coherent whole.
The weekly format over eight weeks worked very well for me. It provided enough time to absorb both theory and practice, while maintaining a good balance with my regular work. The hands-on coding sessions were valuable as well, as they allowed me to immediately apply learned concepts and become familiar with relevant tools, language models, Python packages, and terminology. In my day-to-day work, I already see opportunities to apply what I’ve learned, especially in areas such as anomaly detection, time series analysis, and improving workflows through agents. The course has given me a strong foundation to experiment further and explore practical and personal use cases.
I would definitely recommend this course to others. It is an excellent starting point for anyone looking to develop their skills in AI. It’s accessible enough to follow without being overwhelming, yet deep enough to develop a solid understanding of the topics. Given the rapid developments and expanding applications of AI, this course offers highly relevant and immediately applicable knowledge. In my experience, online courses cannot match the level of depth, interaction, and expertise offered here.
That’s because a key strength of the course is the teaching style of Professor Sandjai Bhulai. He has extensive knowledge and explains complex topics in a very clear and structured way, often demonstrating practical applications from his own experience. The sessions are highly interactive, with plenty of room for questions and discussion. I also appreciated the flexibility of the course: when we as participants showed interest in a specific subtopic, he adapted the program to explore it in more detail in subsequent sessions.
For future participants, my advice would be to actively engage during the sessions, do some additional self-study between sessions, and prepare a couple of questions for the next session. Having a basic understanding of Python is helpful, but most importantly, be creative and think about how you can apply the techniques in your own field. In the end, that’s where the real value of this course lies.”
