Mira Maletic

Director of Operations, Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities
Mira Maletic is a member of the faculty board, overseeing the portfolio of business operations, which includes finance, HRM, communication and marketing, teaching and research support, policy development, career services, NT2, and HEVO. She is also responsible for overall faculty strategy and policy.

Mira Maletic has had a long and diverse career in higher education and at VU Amsterdam. She began her professional journey in journalism at Radio Temisvar (Timisoara) in Romania before transitioning to roles in various industries. Initially working in the tourism sector, she later moved into Human Resource Management, where she played a key role in shaping HR and internationalisation policies at Cirque du Soleil.

Mira has held several key positions at VU Amsterdam, including HRM advisor and head of HRM at the Faculty of Economics and Business - now School of Business and Economics. Since 2014, she has served as director of operations, first at the School of Business and Economics, then at the Faculty of Humanities. As of April 1, 2025, she will take on this role at the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities.

Mira studied Slavic Languages and Literature (Russian and Bulgarian) at the University of Bucharest.
