Drawn to the programme by its blend of theoretical depth and real-world relevance, Jasmin found that the master’s taught her to see creativity as a vital part of economic problem-solving. “I learned that economic issues often have solutions—and that coming up with those solutions requires both analytical thinking and creativity. That mindset is something I use every day in my work at the Ministry.”
One of the aspects Jasmin values most in her current role is the strategic nature of her work. “The environment is dynamic and fast-paced, and I was struck by how many young professionals are eager to make a difference. I particularly enjoy the challenge of offering sound economic advice to the minister while navigating the political context in which decisions are made.”
Jasmin credits the programme’s structure for her academic and professional growth. “The combination of quantitative courses like econometrics and microeconomics with logic-based subjects like public policy helped me develop a strong, versatile foundation. The public policy course had the biggest impact—it inspired my thesis topic and led me to apply for the BOFEB traineeship at the government. That traineeship built directly on what I learned during the programme.”
Jasmin now plays a key role in designing economic policies that aim to make a lasting impact. “This master’s gave me both the tools and the confidence to contribute meaningfully to public policy. I would recommend it to anyone looking to combine academic depth with a drive to make real-world change.”
