"I work via Capgemini as a data consultant at ABN Amro Private Banking. Here I work as a data analyst. At the moment I'm mainly working on data visualisation. I use the Power BI programme to achieve this. Power BI enables you to transform data and use interactive visuals in reports and dashboards. There is a demand from the bank for dashboards and reports that they can use to gain insight into certain data."
"Before this, I worked in the OLVG as research coordinator of a large national study in which 20+ hospitals participated. Here, I was mainly involved in data collection, research coordination, contact with the medical ethics committee and data management. What I missed in this function, was playing and puzzling with the data. That's why I went looking for a job that fulfilled this requirement. Eventually I started working at Capgemini via a former fellow student who has been working there for years. Capgemini is an IT-consultancy company that offers many opportunities to develop yourself, and above all the possibility to decide for yourself what you want to learn. In addition, there is a lot of variety because you can do assignments at different companies. This variety and the countless opportunities to learn and discover things really appealed to me. And I really like it!"
"We learned to work with Matlab during the education. I've noticed that it helps me a lot. The 'language' of Power BI is slightly different, but thanks to my experience with Matlab, I can quickly understand what it says and write things myself more easily. I have also followed various courses on data analysis and visualisation. During the education we worked with motion data but in principle it can be done with other data as well. In the beginning I was also very curious about how much the study would benefit me, but it turns out that it really is a lot."
A tip from Hanka: "Think about what aspects of the study you like and see if you can explore yourself in that. And try to look further. For me, that was playing with data, and you can do that in so many fields."
