Daphne Nijland, research assistant at the Alzheimercentrum Amsterdam

Alumna
During my bachelor's, I developed an interest in the brain. I did some specialization courses and a minor on neurosciences, so when I came across the Research Master in Neurosciences it was an obvious choice!

Why did you choose the research master in Neurosciences at VU Amsterdam?

During my bachelors, I developed an interest in the brain. I did some specialization courses and a minor on neurosciences, so when I came across the Research Master in Neurosciences it was an obvious choice!

What was your background (Bachelor's)?

I attended the bachelors of Biology at VU.

What did you like the most about this research master? / What aspects of this master did you find most useful/interesting?

I liked that the master is very broad so you get to learn something about almost every aspect of neuroscience. Doing two long internships was also useful. The part I found most interesting were both clinical courses and the Brain Imaging course during the second year.

When did you finish this master?

I graduated in 2023.

What are you doing now? / What is your current professional focus/occupation?

I am currently working as a research assistant at the Alzheimercentrum Amsterdam.

Neurosciences alumna Daphne Nijland
