dr. Dr. Désirée A. Laubengaier

Personal information

Dr. Désirée A. Laubengaier is Assistant Professor of Strategic Management at the School of Business and Economics at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. She received her doctoral degree summa cum laude from Politecnico di Milano, Italy. She holds a MSc degree in Business Management from the University of Würzburg and a BSc degree in Business Administration and Economics from the University of Hohenheim and enriched her expertise as a visiting scholar at Amsterdam Business School, University of Amsterdam. She also has professional experience in consulting and innovation management, particularly in the automotive industry.

Research

Her research deals with management innovation, organizational renewal, and the implementation of such from organizational and individual perspectives. With a specific emphasis on innovation processes, she predominantly employs qualitative research methods. As a member of the VU Knowledge Hub for Navigating (Strategic) Paradoxes, she studies paradoxes in organizations. Her research interests further cover phenomena revolving around the "dark sides of innovation" such as innovation fatigue and blaming in organizations.
