Prophecy in the Netherlands

There is growing interest in prophecy, both among Christian individuals and within various churches. What is the meaning of prophecy for Christians in in the Netherlands?

Why are so many people currently looking for a way to better understand the Voice of God? In this study, Dr Miranda Klaver and Dr Hans van Dijk take stock of what is happening within churches, the practices they encounter and what people think about prophecy in the Netherlands.

It is an exploratory, unrepresentative online study that has been widely distributed among people. The research also allows for sharing personal experiences with prophecy. The researchers are looking at where the experience took place, whether it was positive or negative, and whether the prophecy was about the future and possibly contained a warning or a message of encouragement.

The results of the research are also used as a theological reflection on the subject.
