- Why It Matters: Research shows that 1 in 4 migrant pregnant women experiences depression, and 1 in 5 struggles with anxiety. These mental health challenges can affect not only mothers but also their babies, impacting stress responses and development.
- Our Goal: To identify factors influencing the mental health of migrant women during this critical period and explore how these factors may affect their newborns.
Why is MiMoMent Important?
Few studies have focused on the mental health of migrant mothers in countries like the Netherlands. Through this research we will gain insights into the unique challenges faced by migrant women in this sensitive time. By doing so, we aim to contribute to developing better support systems for future mothers and their children.
