Creating Societal Impact
Making impact
VU IXA-GO has broad expertise when it comes to valorisation and impact. The team can provide strong support for your valorisation initiatives. Together, we will look for the best way to exploit your knowledge or invention, which could be, for example, a collaboration, sale, licence or a spin-off venture. VU IXA-GO plays a supporting and facilitating role in valorising knowledge and creating impact, representing the interests of both scientists and VU Amsterdam.
Measuring impact
Understanding the impact of research can be beneficial for future (research) projects. A good substantiation of impact can support SEP evaluations, grant applications, annual reports and personal (HR) evaluations. It also leads to greater awareness of your research group or institute, which facilitates finding research partners. The quality and societal relevance of scientific research can be measured in various ways.
Licensing
VU Amsterdam wants the knowledge generated by research and education to have a beneficial social and/or economic impact. The knowledge institutes and their researchers cannot achieve this on their own. As a result, collaboration with external private parties is often needed. It is essential that good agreements are in place for these collaborations. If you want help with how to approach this, information on who can help you with it and what you need to look out for, you can contact VU IXA-GO or the legal advisors of BJZ.
