Research Infrastructure of Biophotonics of Photosynthesis

    • Fluoremeter Fluorog for steady-state fluorescence measurements;
    • UV-Vis spectrophotometer (Perkin Elmer Lambda 40);
    • UV-Vis spectrophotometer (Agilent Cary 4000) + integrating sphere;
    • Chlorophyll Fluorescence & P700 Photosynthesis Analyzer (Dual-PAM-100 );
    • Circular Dichroism Applied Photophysics Chirascan Plus
    • High-resolution IR spectrometer IRsweep IRis-F1
    • TCSPC setup FluoTime 200
    • JTS
    • Potentiostats with light spectroscopy (metrohm)
    • Homebuilt setups: Stark absorbance and fluoresecence spectroscopy, Infrared circular and linear dichroism and Delta-linear dichroism.

Ultra-fast spectroscopic techniques including:

    • UV-VIS/mid-IR Transient Absorption on fs-submillisecond range
    • UV-VIS Transient Absorption on fs-ns range
    • Time-resolved fluorescence based on streak-camera detection system
    • Time-resolved fluorescence based on Time Correlated single photon counting technique
    • Single molecule spectroscopy

Our Computational/Modelling tools include Gaussian (computational chemistry software package), Glotaran (open source global and target analysis for time-resolved spectroscopy), CPP4I2 package(graphical interface to the series of crystallography programmes), Coot (Crystallographic Object-Oriented Toolkit used to display and manipulate atomic models of macromolecules), Phenix (software package for macromolecular structure determination), Crystfel (program for processing diffraction data), Matlab, Labview, etc.

In addition to the above facilities, the Institute for Life, Lasers, and Biophotonics (LaserLaB Amsterdam) where our group is located, contains a multitude of other advanced time-resolved electronic and vibrational spectroscopies as well as solar energy research equipment and nanostructuring utilities
