The REPS team fulfills two major functions within FGB. Firstly, the team provides the faculty with a central hub where FGB researchers can receive various forms of advice and support for every phase of their research. Secondly, the team translates VU-wide research and valorization policies into faculty-specific guidance and proactively contributes to VU-wide policies on behalf of the faculty.
The team currently has three primary tasks:
1. Provide advice and support for questions about privacy concerns and research data management (RDM). The team can advise on general legal questions, general ethical concerns, the writing of a data management plan, choice of data storage, the organization of data and related documentation and the achievement of FAIR-(meta)data. The team works closely with the faculty's Technical Support for Research department, VU IT, IT Security and the Scientific Research and Ethical Review Board (VCWE). For questions you can contact the:

The development, implementation, evaluation and modification of research and valorization policies, including faculty policies on RDM, privacy, research quality and profiling, open science, research integrity, ethics, and knowledge security, dissemination and utilization. 3. Function as a hub for information regarding research and valorization related concerns with FGB. This info hub maintains a good overview of and in is regular contact with other support services within and outside of the faculty, include the VU Network Research Data Support (NeRDS), IXA-GO and Project Control.

In addition to these primary tasks, the team proactively disseminates relevant information, shares best practices, and refers researchers and other FGB staff to the correct services for the acquisition of funding and the development of activities regarding valorisation & impact. REPS ultimately aims to provide knowledgeable, visible and streamlined research support within FGB.
