Life After Graduation for DBI Master’s students: a workshop with industry voices

Share
17 April 2026
In the Master’s Digital Business & Innovation, we bridge the gap between theory and practice. With ongoing input from our Advisory Board, we ensure that students don’t just learn about innovation—but are prepared to lead innovation in the real world.

The Advisory Board plays a crucial role in helping us align academic content with industry needs. Members such as Anneke Rijsemus (Cyber Security Manager at VGZ, DBI alumna 2010), Sophie Haverkamp (Member of the Executive Board & Chief Products, Solutions & Control at International Card Services, DBI alumna 2010), Birashanth Thanabalasingam (Director at Davinci Conclusion) and Tim de Koning (Director at KPMG Digital) bring invaluable perspectives from the field. Their feedback ensures that the graduates of the Digital Business and Innovation Master’s program are not only well-versed in theory but also equipped with the skills to thrive in practice.

The Life After Graduation workshop brought together DBI students and Advisory Board members for an open conversation about what a 'good transition' from university to working life actually looks like — navigating career choices, professional challenges, and the opportunities that come with stepping into the field. DBI alumni — Evi Grijpink, Sophie Haverkamp, Max van Alphen, Bira Thanabalasingam, Gijs Blankestijn, Anne van de Peppel, Anneke Rijsemus, Widy Linggo Pangarso, Tim de Koning, Kaoutar Sakaqui, Arnoud Prop — brought their perspectives from a wide range of sectors, including retail, agriculture, finance, and government.

We are immensely grateful to our Advisory Board members and alumni for their generous sharing of expertise. Special thanks to Program Director Bart van den Hooff, Program Coordinator Maura Soekijad, and our engaged DBI students for driving a vibrant, forward-looking discussion. The Advisory Board continues to be an essential force in keeping our program sharp, future-focused, and impactful.
