In the course Management of Sustainable Innovation at the School of Business and Economics (SBE), students collaborate with organizations such as PreZero, Sociaal Cement and Closing the Loop to tackle real-world sustainability challenges. They take on the roles of consultant, researcher or innovator, exploring how sustainable change really takes shape in practice.
The course is part of Community Service Learning at VU Amsterdam: students learn by applying their academic knowledge to real societal issues. “This course makes sustainable innovation truly tangible for students,” says coordinator Damla Diriker. “They work with real-world stakeholders who are actively trying to create change.”
