After three years of collaborative research and capacity building, the INSSPIRE Project officially came to an end with a vibrant final conference hosted at Makerere University, one of the project’s key partners. The event brought together a diverse group of stakeholders—including academics, students, practitioners, and policymakers—to reflect on achievements and explore future opportunities for collaboration.
The day featured rich discussions, project reflections, and a thought-provoking keynote address by Prof. John David Kabasa, a leading scholar in food security and former Principal of the College of Veterinary Medicine, Animal Resources and Biosecurity at Makerere University. Prof. Kabasa guided participants through the interconnected challenges of food security and climate change in Africa, offering deep insights into emerging risks, innovation needs, and pathways for resilience.
Another highlight of the conference was the dynamic INSSPIRE Exhibition, where participating universities showcased their contributions at dedicated stands. The exhibition also featured a photo booth and interactive materials explaining key project methodologies, including Real-Life Learning Labs and Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL).
