The introduction day for the Master’s program in Digital Business and Innovation (DBI) welcomed over 70 of our 130 new students for an inspiring start of the academic year. With over 40% of the cohort holding a non-Dutch nationality, and 32 nationalities represented in total, the program continues to attract talented minds with diverse backgrounds, passionate about digital innovation.
The afternoon began with a welcome and an introduction to the DBI program, giving students a first glimpse of what’s ahead. They then had the chance to get to know each other, sharing ideas and starting to form connections that will last throughout the year. After that, students dived into the Marshmallow Challenge, organized with Career Services, where they put teamwork and creativity to the test in a fun, hands-on exercise. Another highlight was meeting their alumni mentors, who will guide and support them during the year. Between sessions, students could enjoy the view of the Zuidas skyline and take a moment to reflect on the day so far. The day ended with drinks at Bar Boele, a relaxed setting to connect with peers, alumni, and faculty and celebrate the start of their DBI journey.
We are proud to see student numbers grow by nearly 50% this year, underscoring the program’s strong relevance in today’s world.
A big thank you goes out to Maura Soekijad, Bart van den Hooff, the SBE Career Services team, and many others, for putting together such a memorable day.
At DBI, we are always looking to connect with industry partners to bring real-world challenges into our courses. This not only allows companies to engage with emerging talent, but also helps our students expand their professional networks. That is one reason for why most of our graduates have successfully found a job before they receive their diploma at the graduation ceremony in the fall.
