The advisory council advises the Minister of Education on the agenda and direction of Development Power

Anne Fleur Kortekaas-Rijlaarsdam, associate professor of Educational Sciences and program director of the Educational Master of Primary Education (EMPO) at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, has been appointed as a member of the Development Power program council. Development Power is a National Growth Fund program aimed at promoting a learning culture in schools in primary, secondary and specialized education.

Kortekaas-Rijlaarsdam: “I am very pleased to be a member of this program council. Together with expert colleagues, I like to think about the structural connection between education and science.

Learning culture
Kortekaas-Rijlaarsdam represents the teacher training colleges and their knowledge institutions (higher professional education and university education) in the council. “I see opportunities for making structural connections between Development Power and the recently started Growth Fund project National Approach to Professionalization of Teachers, of which I was one of the writers. After all, promoting a learning culture in schools goes hand in hand with the professionalization of educational professionals in the school.”

Development power
Development Power promotes a learning culture at school by making knowledge from research accessible, by developing new knowledge for complex educational issues and by giving schools the opportunity to learn from each other.
